Dr. Artz received her doctor of medicine degree from the University Of Arizona College Of Medicine. She completed her residency for general surgery at Texas A & M College of Medicine and an Internship for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Originally from Tucson Dr. Artz is a graduate of Sabino High School. She enjoys volunteering, movies, reading, running and soccer. She also participates in Medical Missions to Bolivia and Honduras. She volunteers at St. Elizabeth’s Health Center whose clinic focuses on treatment and care for the uninsured and the underserved. After moving away from Tucson to complete her surgical training, Dr. Artz moved back to Tucson to join Southwestern Surgery in 2006. She is married to Timothy Dixon, MD an orthopedic surgeon, her son Austin was born 2010, her daughter Scarlett was born in 2013.
Dr. Artz shares her love of medicine as she mentors high school students in both the Tucson and Vail school districts aspiring to be doctors and surgeons. As an associate professor at the University of Arizona she teaches medical students on the path to becoming physicians.
Participating with most major health plans, Dr. Artz is accepting new patients. She is affiliated with St. Joseph’s hospital, Tucson Medical Center and Camp Lowell Surgery Center.
