Kashaf Sherafgan, MD

Dr. Kashaf Sherafgan is a Board Certified General Surgeon. She completed her medical school in Lahore, Pakistan and then went on to do her internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York.  She completed her residency at Tulane University Medical Center, New Orleans. After residency, she worked in private practice while continuing to be involved with academics at the Tulane Surgery Program. She then moved to her Alma mater, Mount Sinai's Elmhurst Hospital and was involved with general and trauma surgery, while actively training surgery residents.

Dr. Sherafgan's practice broadly encompasses most facets of general surgery including surgical diseases of the biliary tract, pancreas, foregut (stomach and esophagus), intestinal tract (small intestine, colon and rectum), skin and soft tissue, endocrine system (thyroid and parathyroid glands), breast surgery (benign and malignant disease processes), hernioraphy (initial and recurrent hernias of inguinal and  abdominal wall) and abdominal wall reconstruction. She has particular  interest in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery, however she operates comfortably through traditional approaches as well.

Dr. Sherafgan participates with most major health plans and is accepting new patients. She is affiliated with St. Mary's Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and Green Valley Hospital.
